Ms. Jahnavi Bhandari

Jahnavi Bhandari is a passionate and dedicated Research Scholar specializing in environmental law, with a remarkable academic and professional journey. She holds a Gold Medal in LL.M from Sikkim University and is currently pursuing a Ph.D. from the same institution. Her scholarly pursuits are complemented by a wealth of practical legal experience, having served as a Junior Advocate under a Senior Advocate at the Gauhati High Court. In this role, Jahnavi honed her skills in legal research, document preparation, client counselling, and courtroom proceedings, with a particular focus on taxation and commercial laws.
Jahnavi has an impressive record of presenting research at prestigious national and international seminars, including topics such as “Climate Change and its Impact in North East India” and “Environmental Laws and Their Application in North-East India.” Her commitment to environmental protection is also reflected in her publications, such as Environmental Laws in Protecting River Tourism in Assam. She actively contributes to discussions on legal education and sustainability through academic writing and participation in webinars and conferences.
Beyond her academic and professional accomplishments, Jahnavi is a practising advocate under the Bar Council of Assam, Nagaland, Mizoram, Arunachal Pradesh, and Sikkim. Jahnavi’s extracurricular activities showcase her diverse talents; she is an accomplished violinist and classical singer, having cleared advanced examinations in both.
