Mrs. Nikita Patel

Mrs. Nikita Patel is an accomplished legal professional and academic, currently pursuing Ph.D. at Hidayatullah National Law University (HNLU), Raipur. She has consistently demonstrated academic excellence, holding an LL.M. from Pt. Ravishankar Shukla University, Raipur, and a B.A.LL.B. (Hons.) from HNLU. Her educational journey is marked by a strong foundation in law, complemented by practical and scholarly pursuits that have established her as a well-rounded expert in the field.

Ms. Patel has significant experience in academia, serving as an Assistant Professor at Galgotias University, Greater Noida, where she has been an integral part of the School of Law since June 2021. In this role, she has taught a variety of subjects, including Constitutional Law, Law of Contracts, Code of Civil Procedure, Law of Torts, Labour and Industrial Laws, and Forensic Science & Law Interface. Beyond teaching, she has contributed to institutional growth as the ERP Coordinator and as a key member of the Legal Aid Clinic. She has also actively participated in organizing national and international conferences, faculty development programs (FDPs), and community-focused legal aid events.

In her legal practice, Ms. Patel has worked as an Advocate at the High Court of Chhattisgarh, Bilaspur. During this time, she dealt with cases involving criminal law and revenue laws, attended court proceedings, assisted senior counsels in legal briefings, and drafted legal documents such as petitions, bail applications, and opinions. Her practical exposure has deepened her understanding of the Indian legal system and strengthened her ability to mentor aspiring legal professionals.

Her commitment to social justice and experiential learning is evident from her diverse internship experiences, accumulating over 34 weeks of hands-on work during her academic years. She interned with reputed organizations such as the Nani Palkhivala Arbitration Centre, where she studied arbitration laws, and Mazdoor Kisan Shakti Sangathan, where she engaged in grassroots advocacy for villagers’ rights. At the corporate legal firm of Advocate Abhinav Kardekar, she gained expertise in drafting deeds and agreements. Additionally, her time with Greenpeace and other NGOs showcases her dedication to environmental and social causes.

Ms. Patel is an active researcher and writer, having presented papers at prestigious conferences, including the “National Conference on Gender Equality and Women Empowerment” at Gauhati University and a conference on building equity for women at GGSIP University. She has also published a book review on “Social Research Methods” by Alan Bryman in the Galgotias Journal of Legal Studies. Her research interests focus on gender equality, legal education, and sustainable development.

In addition to her academic and professional accomplishments, Ms. Patel has earned certifications such as the UGC NET qualification and has participated in international programs, including an Arbitration Summer School organized by ADR HOC. Her ability to balance rigorous academics, impactful research, and meaningful social initiatives reflects her commitment to advancing the legal field and contributing to societal development.
