Abstract

Artificial intelligence (AI) has become a rapidly growing topic not only in technical devices but also as a powerful socio-legal agent that shapes governance, markets, people’s health, environmental laws, media reports, and even individual rights. Once algorithms have handled an increasing number of the decisions that have been historically left to the discretion of humans, then the existing legal frameworks struggle to hold any of them responsible, just, and valid. The paper employs an interdisciplinary approach of law when explaining how the law ought to respond to AI-enabled change in the field of technology regulation, data privacy, and public policy, as well as economics, sociological, psychological, and international regulation. It asserts that the multi-dimensional impacts of AI cannot be regulated using traditional, socio-legal models and proposes the implementation of a comprehensive system of accountability within the context of constitutional values, ethical governance, and sustainable development. The article introduces a normative concept to the future-ready legal regulation as the ability to balance innovation and justice through putting the AI within the frames of a more structured social organisation and regulatory ecosystems.
